Very Sheltered Accommodation

Very Sheltered AccommodationA home for life

Seckford Foundation's Sheltered and Very Sheltered accommodation leads the way for those who require independent living with round the clock care and support.

The elegant surroundings of the Seckford Almshouses provide unique, Sheltered accommodation for elderly people to live independently in their own home with the benefit of having our team of carers on hand 24 hours a day.

For those who require Sheltered accommodation, the "Terrace" provides four bedsits and seven one-bedroom flats, all with a care alarm call system.

Our Very Sheltered accommodation goes further and provides the level of safety, security and care that you would expect.

Accommodation in our 30 newly built one and two-bedroom flats is totally self-contained, comfortable and fitted out to the highest standards. These are wheelchair friendly, carpeted or have non-slip safety flooring, height adjustable kitchen units, walk-in showers, door entry systems, individual CCTV and speaker intercom to receive visitors.

No detail has been missed in order to make your stay with us as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We offer a wide range of shared facilities including a library with computer facilities, hairdressers, shop, assisted bathrooms, a communal dining room and two further communal lounges, a peaceful garden, weekly services in our own Chapel, excursions and day trips in our minibus and, when the many activities and events have become a bit too much, a quiet lounge for relaxation.

We are there to physically help in every way from getting you washed and dressed to preparing your home cooked meals.

Our support continues on to the practical necessities of life such as laundry, ironing, collecting prescriptions and helping to fill in forms.

An individual care plan is made for each resident which is regularly reviewed with the resident and their family. Residents are actively encouraged to exercise choice and to enjoy life to their full potential, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Best practice is constantly reviewed to allow improvement to the superior quality care we strive to provide.

We actively encourage and believe that all residents should be as independent and mobile as possible and we therefore have a varied and active programme of activities and events.

If you are over 50, your present home is unsuitable for your needs and you receive, or have been assessed as needing, at least four hours care per week and live within 40 miles of Woodbridge, then the Seckford Almshouses may well be the place for you.
