BISHOP VISITS ALMHOUSES
17 March 2008
The Bishop of Edmundsbury gave some early Easter cheer to the staff and residents of the Seckford Almshouses when he dropped in recently. Earlier in the day he had visited Woodbridge School as part of a visit to see the varied work of the historic Seckford Foundation and during the day he was also given an overview of the ongoing support provided for families at The Deben Family Centre.
The Rt Reverend Nigel Stock and his wife, Carolyne was given a warm welcome and took time to talk to all those living and working at the Almshouses. Commenting afterwards he said: “A well-run flourishing school is always a stimulating experience but the unique combination of that and the care for the elderly and the refuge for families was remarkable to see and hear about.”
